Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. Her birth date was 25, December, 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano and harpsichord for three years. She survived on a student salary and part-time work to supplement her budget. In the Royal Academy Lennox was dissatisfied by her performance compared to her student classmates and was contemplating a different route she could take. Lennox was initially an instrument player with the group Dragons Playground. However she left prior to the group's appearance on I.T.V.s talent show New Faces. From 1977 to 1980 she was singer-songwriter for The Tourists, a British Pop group. The band was where she made friends with Dave Stewart and together they formed The duo Eurythmics. Then, Lennox started working on her solo first album Diva that came out in 1992. The album had a tremendous success both commercially and critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs Sixth Solo Album came out in the month of October 2014. The C.D. contains a collection of Lennoxs most loved blues and soul jazz tunes from her upbringing. Lepidoptera is a collection of four piano improvisations, was released by Lennox in May 2019. The E.P. The album is a companion to her Now I let the door open... art installation that was exhibited at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. This is also her first independent album. Lennox as well as Dave Stewart, a fellow musician, proceeded to achieve international fame in 1990s when they formed the Eurythmics. Medusa is her album of studio work from 1995. It has covers of songs like The No MoreI I Love Yous and The Whiter Shade of Pale. Her credits include seven studio albums by herself and a compilation.
